Will try to keep this short! I'm 24 weeks pregnant and since last Thursday have had headaches and lightheadness and sensitivity to light. I went to my GP on Friday and because he couldn't find the cause he sent me to the Maternity Assessment Unit as the hospital. They very thoroughly checked me over, bloods and head scan and an ENT doctor came and looked in my ears. They couldn't find a cause for it so have just said it's probably a virus. Two things I think could be contributing to it, I have low ferritin, only 11 so not massively low and borderline low haemoglobin and haemocrit levels. I've heard that anaemia can cause symptoms like these? Also my B12 whilst in range is on the low side of normal. Secondly the back of my head is really tender and when I press on the area, it makes my headache worse.
I wondered if anyone has any experience of this and what the cause could be? I feel much better when lying down but can't be laid up with with indefinitely with a toddler. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Oh and baby has been checked and he's fine, kicking away and good heartbeat!
