Too many periods...

For the last 4 months I have been having periods every two weeks or so-alternatively 'normal' periods that last around a week and then a week and half to two weeks later, sort of black bloody discharge, quite heavy for two or three days. I feel awful with the second kind, All the normal period symptoms but much worse than with normal periods.
I will make an appointment with the dr but has anyone else had this?
I'm 38-maybe something to do with peri menopause? Not any on sort of contraception so it can't be anything to do with that either...
Feel lousy and having a stressful time of it anyway at the minute, just want it to stop Sad

Best place to ask is your GP, hope all is well

No answers, but I have just got my period about 10 days after the last one finished. Hmm I'm also wondering if this is perimenopause. Whatever it is, I'm not impressed!

I had this about 4 years ago when I was around 35. I went to the GP after 3 months of it and she said it was nothing to worry about and could be down to stress, changes in sleep patterns etc. She said to come back if it continued for another six months. It happened 2 more months then never happened again. GP didn't really reassure me to be honest as I couldn't get how it could be normal but I guess she was right. Go to the GP or you'll just think worst case scenario.

It could be the stress. Start taking a magnesium supplement and book in to see the dr. Stress can do funny things with periods. About 4 yrs ago I had this and it hit put down to stress in the end.
