I think I may have had a prolapse. It was very shocking and now I have belly/ back ache. Has anyone had this? What did you do

Hiya

I had awful backache with my prolapse as well. I went to GP who referred me to a urogynaecologist.

Also, there's a webchat here on Jan23rd. Here's the link if you want to post any questions in advance?

Thank you for your response... do you know why yours happened? Could I please ask how old you were? Did I️t go back to normal by itself? I have woken up and feel a bit sorrow for myself and broken.

Well, I had a traumatic birth with my DS and that's known to be one of the causes. I had symptoms straight away but wasn't formally diagnosed till about 7years later when I was 46. I had surgery but sadly that failed.

Have you been to your GP?

sillyoldowl · 20/01/2018 09:48

I rang when I️t happened but can't be seen until Monday.
That's such a long time for you to wait...can they do anything else for u

I'm due to go back to the Urogynaecologist around Easter this year. Hope it all goes well on Monday Flowers

Sillyoldowl,
I have had two surgeries for prolapse and am doing wonderfully! I had back aches!! My tailbone hurt...and felt like i had a tampon half out. Surgery fixed that for me...but you could also ask for a pessary. They can work wonders. Also ask for pelvic floor physio!! She can teach you exercises to help with strengthening/balancing your core as well as teach you breathing techniques, lifting techniques and more. For the time being, limit lifting heaving weights. limit or eliminate high impact activities.
Here is a list of questions you can look over before your appointment! www.pelvicorganprolapsesupport.org/pop-questions-to-ask-your-physician/
