Abnormal Liver Function Test result

Could anyone tell me if an abnormal LFT could be for no reason or will something definitely be picked up?

My GP has referred me for a scan (assuming ultrasound) after routine blood tests at my postnatal check came back as abnormal. My only other symptom is intense itchy skin occasionally.

I suppose I'm worrying about what could be wrong or if the tests can be inaccurate.

Look up cholestasis, it's a liver condition you can get in late pregnancy and the main symptom is intense skin itching. How old is your baby?

Are you taking any herbal supplements? I took feverfew for migraine for a couple of months and that caused me to have abnormal liver function test results.

@InDubiousBattle coming up to 7 weeks, I'll have a look at that. Had LFTs done during pregnancy & they came back fine.

@SueGeneris the only thing I'm taking are breastfeeding vitamins so not herbal as such.

Are you taking painkillers, I can't take NSAIDs ( aspirin/ibuprofen etc) because they cause abnormal test results.

@goose1964 no not now, I did for about 4 weeks after my c section. Perhaps that could be it?
