I have a cut on my nipple and it's not healing at all

maybe this should be under breast feeding but here goes.....

i got a tiny cut right in the part of my nipple where the milk comes out over a week ago but it hasn't healed and seems to be getting deeper and more painful.

ds is getting very upset feeding from that side and isn't helping matters by biting and pulling in frusttration, i'm not sure whether it's because the milk tastes odd or isn't flowing properly (although if i squeeze it spurts out like normal)

i've tried lansinoh which normally sorts anything but it hasn't had any effect and feeding is becoming excrutiating, again ds doesn't help with that!

shoul i stop feeding from that side til it heals or ill that make the milk dry up completely, and if not how do i help it to heal?

Have you tried feeding with nipple shields? Avent do soft ones, but neither ds2 nor I liked the Boots ones. What about expressing that side for a day or two to give your nipple a rest?

ds doesn't/won't take a bottle so tbh i don't think he'll feed from a shield...... might have to try it though as he really isn't taking any full feeds from that side at the moment

expressing is practically impossible with dd running around and ds wanting to be held 24/7. i've never been able to express more than 1/2 to 1 ounce from that side for some reason, other side gives me bottles of milk!

It might be thrush.....

Go get checked out by the or HV or a bf counsellor.

eek... my PHN (HV) is a woman who told me that she doubted my dd was allergic to milk as i had breastfed her and 'milk is milk love, it's all the same'! don't think i'll be asking her for advice

i'd better find out where LLL meet and hope they have a bf councellor they can put me in touch with.

hadn't thought of thrush, do you mean the original cut might have gotton infected with it?
