Getting delirious?

I've got a cold and took night nurse the other night which worked well, then last night I took it and got delirious.

I thought I was in the kitchen then realised I was in bed, I thought I was writing hieroglyphics on MN (hope not!), there were other things like I was in the street then realised I wasn't.

Was the cold fever making me go delirious? It wouldn't be night nurse...?

Are you sleep deprived? I get aural hallucinations and occasionally visual ones when I don't get enough sleep, months of 4 hours which have increased with the Drs help

Yeah, it's the dreaded lurgy.

I like the term aural hallucinations, I did 'hear' something last night

I've had hallucinations due to a high temperature with this flu. Best see your doc to rule out e.g. Chest infection, etc. It is scary and horrible. I hope you feel better soon, OP.

PerspicaciaTick · 17/01/2018 21:55

Delusions aren't listed as a possible side effect of night nurse, although disorientation is a possible side effect.
Did you take your temperature at all? Just that if it was high enough to be causing hallucinations after you had taken Night Nurse then it sounds pretty horrific and if it happens again I think you should call your GP or 111.

Sorry - that should say delirium. I started off thinking delirious, moved to thinking hallucination and ended up typing something else entirely.

So has my OH. It was scary. He wouldn't take it again.

Actually that's really interesting.

I took some last night and after I'd shut my eyes and started to fall asleep I could hear voices so I thought 'oh no, here we go' and opened my eyes. Then it happened one more time & luckily after that I fell asleep.
