Chest infection?

I've had a chesty cough all week. Coped ok at first (3dc to look after so kept going as you do) despite off/on fever chills etc. Have spent the weekend mainly in bed trying to throw it off but now worried it's a chest infection. When I cough I'm getting a weird cracking/fizzing in the back of my throat . Should I bother the GP with this tomorrow or am I over thinking this and just need a few days more rest?

I'd ring 111 if you're worried in any way at all. That's what it's for.
Do you feel like you have a weight on your chest when you breath in/out?

When I had a chest infection a couple of years ago, I found it hard to breathe, ie felt like I get enough air into my lungs and was physically exhausted. If you feel like this, then don't let it get worse.

Thanks both, I don't currently feel bad enough to call 111. I'm not short of breath or heavy chest, just ache a bit in chest and back.

Given you’ve had it for a week and it’s getting worse I would see if you can get a gp app tomorrow

I get frequent chest infections always coughing thick phlegm.
