Feeling very hot a week before period

Does anyone else get this?
About a week before and during my period I can feel very hot during the night and I will get hot flashes during the day too.
During the rest of my cycle I'm quite a chilly person and its not something I used to suffer from either (only the last year or two). I'm 45 this year and wonder if my age has something to do with it?

The start of peri-menopausal symptoms?

I get night sweats one or two days before my period starts. I've always been like it and I'm 44. Hope that helps!
