White blood cell count very high

My white blood cell count is 23.5 and I've got to go back to doctors for further blood tests. Any ideas why it may be so high and should I be worried

Have you been ill recently or had an infection? Elevated wbc can be many things but is usually when the body is fighting an infection of some description x

With all due respect, it’s high, but not very high, my daughters has had lots of bloods done in the last 6 months and they said they would not worry until wbc into the thousands.

It’s probably slightly elevated due to you fighting some some of infection/cold/virus
