This is probably a long shot but here goes. I have hyper mobile joints. Very mild in the grand scheme of things, it was diagnosed by a surgeon and physio while examining me post op for yet another ankle injury by looking at the way my knees and elbows bend backwards and my history of injuries (again, very mild compared to others). It’s also improved with age, I’m 33 now, although I can still easily put my foot in my mouth both physically and metaphorically 😂
Anyway, I started on the progesterone only pill about 4 years ago. At the time I noticed my joints became significantly more lax and rolled my ankles quite a few times in the first few months, never seriously but enough to have me hobbling for a while and needing to see a physio, I seriously considered coming off the pill but the physio advised I wait and it settled and I tolerated the pill very well.
I came off the pill about 6 weeks ago and have hurt my shoulder twice in that time and have noticed stiffness and pain there and in my right hand and left foot. Nothing major but I work in a very physical job and am on my feet 13 hours a day so I’m struggling a bit at the moment.
My GP knows nothing about the condition and given how I was diagnosed I have no specialist to consult. Does anyone have any experience of this? Are these pains likely connected to coming off the pill or am I just getting creaky anyway and making a connection that doesn’t exist? If anyone has any experience or insight I’d love to hear it, thanks.
