Mine is getting painful now and apart from painkillers I don't know what to do about it. I used to think they were the preserve of the over 60s

My mum had hers removed from left foot about 6 yrs ago - she is just in the O60s bracket! - but it had been bothering her for a long time.

Recovery was painful and slow (couple of weeks leg up, several months in tightly laced trainers, lots of rest etc), but IMO was well worth it - her foot now looks a normal shape and she can walk for as long as she likes

HTH - good luck

Thanks Tickle. Sorry I didn't see this earlier. I thought there were no replies.
Glad to hear she made a good recovery eventually. I am no where near 60s so I don't really want to put up with it too long or wait til gets too bad. Thanks for the reply.
