Operation cancelled AGAIN!

Just a bit of a rant really, but have just had my operation cancelled at short notice (17 hours) for the second time and am so pissed off! I'm waiting to have a dermoid cyst on my right ovary removed, it's causing pain, reflux, bloating, weight gain and tiredness (as well as making me a grumpy, emotional nightmare!) and I now have to wait another 2 bastarding weeks to have the arsehole taken out. Anyone else need a similar rant?!

I’ll join you - no idea how long you’ve been waiting but someone I know was told he needed an operation over 11 months ago that could be done laparoscopically. As of today he’s still waiting and now needs major surgery to repair the problem. He has put up with months of pain and discomfort and having to wear clothes that are too big so that his perculiar shape is not quite so obvious only to find that the op finally scheduled for the end of this month is now likely to be cancelled.
In truth if the op is cancelled it will be just one more thing to add to a whole catalogue of errors relating to the way he has been treated since he first sought advice almost a year ago, but even without the possibility that the operation may not now take place as planned, there is absolutely no question that the way his case has been handled provides irrefutable evidence if ever it was needed that the NHS is in a truly sorry state.
I’ll keep my fingers crossed that your operation finally goes ahead in a fortnight OP, but In your shoes and in the current situation I don’t think I’d be holding my breath!

I'm waiting, too.

I fear I'll have to become an emergency to get to the top of the list. Meanwhile my life is kind of on hold. And I'm in pain :(

@Lineys that's what I'm worried about, the cyst is big enough to twist my ovary if left, which would probably result in losing it.
We're already putting off ttc until I'm healed and at 37 I feel like the clock is ticking!
