Ovarian cyst or late ovulation?

Just after a bit of advice (if problem persists after af I’ll be off the GP).
Past few days or so I’ve been having sharp pains intermittently in my left ovary. I didn’t think much of it really but today (AF due today poss tomorrow) it’s much worse. I’m concerned that a) it could be a cyst or worse or b) I’ve ovulated late in which case I may have put myself in a position where I could fall pregnant.
Me and DH got a little carried away New Year’s Day and I wasn’t too concerned as I’m due on today and chances are ovulation was over and done with.
We have 2 dds and although we aren’t planning anymore a pregnancy wouldn’t be unwanted or unwelcomed.
Has anyone had this kind of pain this close to AF? Thanks

I realise no one has replied but an update - AF hasn’t actually arrived and not a sign it is. Still getting the odd twinge. I’m on CD31 with my average cycle being 29. Could a cyst stop AF arriving?? Thanks

Hi, I have a large dermoid cyst on my ovary, I have always had irregular periods and the gynaecologist thinks it might be partly responsible. If you think you have a cyst you should get yourself checked.

Maybe try taking a test . I have a hormone problem and pcos and got carried away 1 night last month . I wasn't worried at all as it took me ages to fall with my other 2 children but I was late , took a test and currently pregnant with baby number 3 xx

Thank you for your replies. If no sign of
AF after this weekend I’ll get to the GP Monday to see what’s going on but I’ll do a test before hand I think. My periods are normally 1/2 days out but my cycles are never more than 30 days.

This seems a daft question considering I’m in my thirties and have 2 children but for arguments sake - if I did ov late and we somehow managed to conceive on New Year’s Day it wouldn’t show on a test yet anyway would it?

I don't know if it's too early to test but no harm in doing one anyway.

It probably won't show on a test yet but if it's negative retest in a few days .. my 1st test was negative and a few days after was positive x

Quick update. I tested on Sunday and BFN. Still no AF though and yesterday and the day before I had a little pink discharge on and off which I’m thinking could be implantation bleeding. I think I have ov late and I’ve been caught on New Year’s Day?! I’ll test Thursday - hopefully that will give me an answer either way. When we were trying for our second dd it took us a year, I can’t believe I could actually be pregnant again after not using anything once!

This happened to me it took me a year with my first and 6 months with my second and one time with my third. I was shocked but when I spoke to my midwife she said after having children your body gets familiar with what it has to do and therefore makes u more fertile 😊 x
