my ds has just turned 2 and for the last week or so has had real trouble doing a number 2
he really really strains and he is only marking his nappy i saw the health visitor yesterday and she said to give him more fibre so he has lots of rasins and apricots and diluted orange juice
the thing is when i got him out the bath tonight i had him laid across my lap and lifted his legs to dry his bum and poo was coming out so it seems as if he is blocked up?
and ideas or advice would be great sorry for the long post and TMI!

Try laying him on his back and stroke hand over hand on the left hand side of his tummy, then in and upside down L across the top and down the left and then in an upside down U from the bottom right hand side up and over, IYSWIM. Then move his legs up and down from straight to crouch whilst he's still laying down. I've done this many a time on my boys when they are blocked up it seems to help. I've heard orange oil is good to rub on the tummy whilst you massage but I haven't tried it myself. Rubarb is good to get things going too.
