Very car sick 13month old!

Hi all, I'm posting on behalf of a friend. Her ds is 13mo and he gets VERY car sick. He was sicky when young but grew out of that around 9mo. Now he is (pretty much) only sick when travelling in the car. Even a 20mins journey is too long. A 2hr journey is a nightmare...

What can you give a 13mo to ease the sickness?

Any suggestions appreciated

ginger biscuits, dry cereal, raisins - I always felt it helped to keep sugar levels up, plus it kept dd occupied.

I'm pretty sure there was a thread on this recently.

I think my Dd was slightly older than this when she got car sick so I don't know if eating in the car is an option for you.

Ventilation is important. It helps if the air is cool. I always take a blanket to cover the child so they don't feel cold and then have the car as cool as possible so that they are breathing in cool fresh air.

Thanks for the tips daisy1999. I'll pass them on and do a search to see if anything comes up.

Just found this thread which looks really useful. Can't believe it was posted only last week! I didn't think to look under behav/dev... Thanks.

homeopathic travel pills, lots of air, sympathy and frequent stops if he can vocalise enough to complain. encourage him to look out through the front.
