IBS Sufferers-A Question

Hi all.
I am wondering do any of you have pain/discomfort as your main symptom?
When having a flare I can have pain all day for several days/up to a week or more!
Bowels are normal I don't have D or C...Just a constant dull ache.
Early this Year I pushed for lots of tests to confirm to me that it WAS "just" IBS- all tests came back clear.
I hear that for most people with IBS that D or C is present with the odd bouts of pain.
Yet mine is more constant and can last for days with no other symptoms!!!!
Anyone else suffer in this way? - Christmas so far has not been great as I have had a dull achey belly now for days! It is frustrating and I do find it hard not to worry there is something else going on at times.

Hi yes my main symptom is pain which can last for over a week, I take colpermin capsules 3 times a day for about 10 days and it really helps as they relax the cramping. I start to take them at the first sign of pain which lessens it dramatically and thank fully only get really bad attacks 2 or 3 times a year which coincides with stress.

That sounds a good idea I have some tabs prescribed by the Doc but never really felt like they did anything so don't really take them..will look into Colpermin.
