I woke up this morning and noticed I had slight pins and needles in my right hand. It keeps coming and going all day. Should I be concerned?

Not as an occasional thing. It can be a pinched nerve in the neck, or carpal tunnel syndrome. I have it from whiplash.

I always got his before my period. Got massively worse as I hit peri menopause.

It can be 101 different things, most of which aren't concerning. Book in to see your GP at a time that's convenient for you in the New Year?

Yes, be concerned and request a blood test for B12, folate, ferritin, FBC and full thyroid panel.

By all means ask if blood tests are needed but they aren't required for most diagnoses that cause pins and needles in the hand.

Please request the blood tests to rule out pernicious anaemia - delay can lead to symptoms becoming permanent. Many doctors do not understand this.
If left untreated this is a potentially fatal condition so testing for it at the earliest opportunity is advisable.
