Red, angry looking cervix?

I've just been for my smear and the dr said my cervix was very far back and hard to reach. She said when she got it that it was very red and angry looking.
She said it could be some sort of infection but not to worry until we get the results.
I gave birth a year ago.

Any advice? I'm worrying myself...

I was told a similar thing when I had smear after having my first child, so this would have been about 12 years ago. The nurse doing it was going to get the doctor to look as she said my cervix looked very red, but in the end she said no, let’s wait for the smear result. I was so nervous that the next day I sat and queued in a walk in sexual health clinic and explained what the nurse had said and had a doctor there have a look. She explained that the cervix skin was like the inside of the mouth and could change temporarily and look sore, like the mouth can. She wasn’t concerned and all my smears have been fine since.
Hopefully all will be well and you will know soon.
