Ear trouble

Hiya,
I have had bits of ear trouble in both ears for as long as i can remember, generally both take turns in being blocked or feel full and my hearing is decreased but it normally corrects itself with in a few weeks. I have never seen a doctor over it as its just annoying and not painful etc.
However 3.5 weeks ago i developed the same kind of thing in my right ear but this time it was accompanied by pain, the pain would become horrendous at night and i had to sleep on a hot water bottle to try and relieve it! It gradually got better after 2 weeks but is still there now especially at night time and when i eat, every time i chew i get a stabbing pain and at night time i have been waking up with my ear pounding! I am also 26 weeks pregnant and paracetemol arent touching it! I will try and make a gp appt tomorrow but does anyone have any idea what it could be? It doesnt get worse when i pull my ear around or anything. I presumed i just have very waxy ears that block easy and thought this could be an infection but i dr.googled last night and scared myself! I know none of you are doctors but reassurance/advice would be nice right now x

Could it be your tooth?

Go and see your GP! If it’s blocked wax it’s easily dealt with. There are other things it could be (I have Ménière’s disease which causes a feeling of pressure in the affected ear and fluctuating hearing along with dizziness but there are other conditions which can cause similar symptoms) but the best, most reassuring thing you could do is get a medical professional to have a look at it!
