Can I please hear your good/bad experiences of the contraceptive patch? I want to try it for myself but interested to hear what people have to say about it first

I have used it and found it brilliant! I just stick it on, forget about it and change it each week. Sometimes it can be a tad itchy, so make sure your skin is 100% clean before you put it on. Makes me feel grateful to live in the 21st century and have access to ground breaking forms of contraception!

I prefer it to the pill as I would often forget to take my pill in time.

I don't like injections so that wasn't viable.

I had the contraceptive implant which worked wonders too and I highly recommend.

I started on the patch before pills and I really liked it.
Agree with above, make sure the area is clean and dry. And put the patch in a different area each week.
It's fine in winter, but in summer just be aware that it may be seen depending on where you are planning to put it.
The easiest place I found was the top of the arm. Maybe be ok on the top of the thigh???? I don't think I tried there. It moved about a bit anywhere on the back I tried. That's the downside of it.
But I found it easier than remembering to take the pill everyday.

I was fine with the patches for the first 6-8 months, then started to get heavy, unpleasant discharge. They weren't for me.

As others said, you need to keep changing location as skin can become irritated.

I developer severe Chloasma (pigmentation)on my face from the patches. Apart from that it was good!

I love it! I've been using it over 10 years now (except pregnancy). It's been great with no real side effects at all.

The only little problem is swimming - it can come off if I'm in the pool for over an hour lol!

Ps I put it on the top of my thigh - I move it slightly over by 1cm every time I change it and it's never irritated me or been sore
