Feeling ridiculous

Had an MRI scan today on my pelvis/lower back. Basically I think I’ve had a panic attack/anxiety attack from being in there.

Couldn’t stand the thought of not being able to sit up if I needed to or move. I managed to get through it, but I feel exhausted.

I’ve been a mental wreck for the last few hours as I can’t stop thinking about the panic inside the scanner.

Any tips on how to cope with this? Is this normal?!

Yes - it's not a fun experience. Be kind to yourself, have a quiet evening (maybe a glass of wine if you drink) and hopefully you'll be ok after a good nights sleep. Oddly enough I was ok the first one I had (head scan so full immersion) but the second (which was for my chest so was able to go in feet first) I had a meltdown beforehand. The nurses were kind but firm Smile

Sounds totally normal to me.
