Free fluid in pelvis ?

Hi. I had a scan recently to check on a cyst . Cyst is gone and ovaries are fine but Dr said there is some free fluid in my pelvis. I’m having another scan in two weeks but after doing a google search I’m worried! I’m not pregnant, 48 and quite sure I don’t have endometriosis. Periods are normal. I’m very worried :(

Soentimes if a cyst bursts the fluid that was in it can hang about in the pelvis for a while. I hope the rescan reassures you

I had pain in my side at about a similar age, sent for scan and cyst was spotted, got an appointment for a further scan and fluid was detected, then got referred to gynaecologist who ordered a MRI and that was normal.
On my follow up appointment he said that some people have free fluid and no cause is ever found.
I was a similar age to you and still having periods.

Thanks NK34, I’ve had no pain or any symptoms. Hopefully it’s nothing serious, the worry is awful.
