Vaginal mesh surgery?

I have both a uterine and bladder prolapse. Without listing my symptoms while some of you are eating I will say that still they need fixing.

I am 2 months in to a 3 month wait for surgery to correct these. I am having mesh to support both prolapses and that will likely be in the early part of 2018.

Now, I have seen and read upteen news articles about the dangers of these - women barely able to function, in constant pain etc and tonight's panorama was about this exact thing.

I don't know what to do to be honest. My issues need correcting and at 34 years old I would prefer to feel 'intact' if you understand me but similarly at 34 I don't want to be dependent on crutches, in constant pain for the rest of my life and to be honest these horror stories have put me off.

Has anyone had this mesh surgery and how have you found it?

Thanks

Join a FB page called sling the mesh.

I they will tell you the alternatives to mesh . I personally would never consider it , many don’t start having problems for a few years.

They were talking about it on woman's hour quite a bit. May be worth a listen x
