It sounds like it could be genital herpes OPThanksDo you have a GUM/ sexual health clinic nearby? Go ASAP

Pastababa · 09/12/2017 15:24

The Dr said go back Monday if no better. Is GH an STI? Sorry if that's me being thick

I must say I’ve never had thrush like that. But as an FYI the pessary never worked for me. The oral tablet was effective and less messy.

Also, there really is no need for giggling and monkey faces: we are adults and thrush is an unpleasant but perfectly normal infection. Even if it’s an STI, while that may raise uncomfortable questions in your relationship, it is nothing to be ashamed of personally.

Pastababa · 09/12/2017 15:31

Sorry but it's embarrassing to me and even more so if it's an STI can herpes develop that fast? I cant take the oral pill for thrush as breastfeeding my 4 month old.

O.K., well, your G.P. is your best bet then. Thrush can vary and I’ve had some nasty and very painful bouts of it but never as you describe.

The more coy and schoolgirl-like we are about such matters, the more others get embarrassed. You’ve given birth, you’re breastfeeding, now you have a vaginal infection. Nothing to be embarrassed about.

Auvergne · 09/12/2017 15:35

Incidentally, if it is very painful, try sitting on a big of frozen peas (yes, really.)

I had recurring thrush when on antibiotics some years ago, so I do sympathise Flowers

There are 2 different types of Genital Herpes, HSV1 and HSV2. The first type isn't as common, but can be caused by genital -oral contact with someone with a cold sore.

Yes, Genital Herpes is strictly speaking an STI, but don't immediately jump to the conclusion that your OH has been cheating because people can have HSV2 and not know they're infected.

Get yourself checked out again OP, I'd recommend the sexual health team OP- it's all very matter of fact and non-judgmental. It really doesn't sound like BV, Thrush or a UTi and sounds miserable.
Good luck x

Does your do have herpes or has he had unprotected sex with someone else recently ?

Pastababa · 09/12/2017 15:40

Well thanks I'll get to the gp Monday again and see what they say. GUM clinic is closed now and really don't fancy sitting there with a baby. Iv not had anything like this before iv had thrush once but wasn't like this. I'll see what the Dr says before I jump down oh throat

Pastababa · 09/12/2017 15:42

Getrudecb as far as I know he's not got anything as far as another woman yes there's a chance he's cheated but will wait until iv been checked

What does he say when you mention it to him?

Keel · 10/12/2017 00:10

Could it be a reaction to the pessary?

Pastababa · 10/12/2017 09:53

Iv not said anything we don't live together. I just said I'd got a wa5er infection. He didn't seem surprised or anything.

The spots are similar to ingrowing hair spots the soreness feels similar to when I gave birth and going for a wee burns around the area that's sore
