Hi Everyone, The question is would you go back to the dentist or try to wait for the tooth to see if it will settle?
On Monday this week I had a big filling in a small tooth, its the 4th one back from the front, upper left. There was a previous filling in but it developed decay underneath, so obviously it was taken out a temp put it, then an amalgam one.
Since then its not been great, hurting and sensitive etc. The dentist did an xray and the decay had not got to the nerve. I've not got banging toothache just a low level ache and a few pains.
How long can a tooth take to settle do you think? I'm hoping I wont need a root canal because they can take months to settle.
Should I go back on Monday to the dentist or try to ride it out? Thanks.

I have pain from a filling, but only when I bite in one particular spot. I asked when I took DC to dentist and was told it’s prpbably because the height isn’t quite right. They took a bit off and it’s a bit better now. Doesn’t hurt quite so often and doesn’t justify the cost of going back!
