Do you think its just a virus?

He's tired . Always is after going back to nursery after a holiday. Gets all tired and teary.

He's lying on playroom floor rug flopping about. Even though his friend is here.

His friend just said why are your ears all red? They are. Bright red.

We think he has hayfever (he's asthmatic too) so maybe he feels odd because of that. He's usually bad with tree pollen. It can't give you a temp though can it?

He sounds like he is pretty ill and could do with going to bed, IMO.

Yes I know but we have to go and collect 2 children from 2 different schools in a minute.

can you not leave him with a neighbour for half an hour? (probably not but worth a thought)

ring NHS direct when you get home?

I could but I don't think he'd want to stay with her.

Hopefully he'll fall asleep in the car.

Oh my god, what a nightmare pick up.

Ds fell asleep in car , so that was good. He went in the buggy so I had to carry dd. She couldn't walk as she had no shoes on (and she's slow and we have to rush on thursdays). I'd got her straight out of her cot which is why she had no shoes.
Got first child then had to carry dd and push heavy buggy back to car. Boiling hot.
Then had to drive to other side of town to collect other child.

Dh home now. Ds awake but flopping on sofa.

He's asleep on the sofa. Shivering.

Temp not gone down with calpol.

Got an appointment at doctors but not till 6.10pm.

Neighbour says I shouldn't wake him to take him. Temperatures going up and down dont mean anything apparantly. And they get higher in afternoon evening anyway. Is that right?

I think he should go or I'll worry if he gets worse in night. What do you think??

Go, you have an appointment so use it. If he gets better on his own then fabulous, but if he doesn't and you didn't take him you'll feel even worse than you will waking him now.

I'm sure its nothing but dd was in hospital for 3 days last month and I'm a bit extra panicky.

He was sick a few times after my last post and was really shivery

The doctor said it was a virus. He's seen lots of children with temp, sickness and colicky tummy pains.

He was sick a bit in night but is much perkier today. I kept him off school and my Mum is here today and is helping me tidy up.

He's watching Power Rangers now.

I do get down about it sometimes. They are both always ill. All the time.

PM, my ds is just getting over the same virus, sicking stopped after 24 hours, he seemed okay yesterday morning, dipped by the afternoon and has done the same today. Currently asleep in bed! If he's having trouble keeping calpol down, I can really recommend paracetamol suppositories, sounds a bit ick but they do the job! Also, alternate calpol and nurofen if you're not already, it was the only way ds's temp came down.

Hope he feels better soon.

Poor things. I hope he gets well very soon. Maybe they're using all of their illnesses up in one go so you'll have a good run of healthy parenting.
