Just woke up bleeding

But I only had my period 2 weeks ago. Weirdly on thurs while having a poo I suddenly started to bleed vaginally (definitely where it was coming from) and lots of it. It gradually stopped over the next 24 hours. Now I’ve just woken up with my Pyjamas soaked thro & (sorry TMI) when I wiped there were 2 big clots. I’m definitely not pregnant (sterilised & Not had sex since July).

Should I be worried?

With the usual disclaimer that you should talk to your GP if you're worried...

How old are you? My period was like 28-day clockwork until perimenopause at around 41... It's been a few years now, I'm still getting them, but the timing and heaviness / lightness is all over the place. I've accepted it as my new normal but I do miss my clockwork days and am looking forward to post-menopause!

Go to A&E. If it’s that heavy you need to get yourself checked out. Could be an emergency

Call 111 now. Be prepared for them to tell you to go to A & E too though.

Put a pad in, if you soak through that I would head to A&E.
Any temp or other symptoms?

I got back to sleep - thanks for the replies.
I’m not in the UK so seen yearly by a gynae but it’s probably a year since I was last there. Will call on Monday morning if it doesn’t get worse.

I’m 43 - periods are a bit irregular and have done a stop start thing before but nothing like this. It was the suddenness of it that shocked me - that’s not how my periods start. I’ve never been woken by wet Pyjamas & bed sheets - I thought I’d wet myself.
I do have a bit of a temp but I’ve also got a bunged up nose & sore throat so put it down to that.
There is an emergency medical service like 111 here so I’m going to see how it is over the next few hours and I’ll call them if it remains a lot

Get yourself to an out of hours doctor at least. That doesn't sound normal.

That sounds like more than an irregular period and I think you should see a doctor as soon as possible

I was going to say you may be perimenopausal as I get the stop start thing and have done for about 5 years BUT you say you have a temperature also. Please phone the DRs, and get yourself checked out!
