dh is suffering a fair bit. mine has started i think, bit early for me but i def feel it starting up.
i use olbas inhalers as i cant take alot of medicines

ChelseaDagger · 19/04/2007 01:19

Mine started about a week ago. I use citirizine if it's really bad (not sure if it's suitable for children) but haven't needed to yet. I used to suffer all through the summer but now it's just for the first month or so of the season.

Take her to the GP. Hayfever tabs are ridiculously expensive to buy over the counter.

I have been getting it for a few weeks now.

Take Cetirizine (brand name Zirtek).

You can get Zirtek syrup for children now (piriton syrup is an older, and less widely prescribed antihisthamine for children now).

Blimey crispyduck - You've started something now, when I've finished you'll wish you never asked. Feeling really sorry for myself at moment. Absolutely streaming nose, itchy throat, sticky eyes, sneezing continuosly - need I say more. Why has it started so early. Silly question I know, but I just feel awful and a right mess!! Deepest sympathies to all those sufferers out there, and apologies for the whining!!

sammysam · 20/04/2007 12:41

mine has started up again
does anyone know if you can take anything if you are breastfeeding?

oopsydaisy · 20/04/2007 20:50

me too
according to dr hale's site both cetirizine (piriteze or zirtek) and loratadine (clarityn) are both safe to take while bf as long as infant is full term and healthy.
i'm off to docs next week to get my free prescription!
