Menstrual Cycle..2 weeks free a month

Hi
I’m looking for some advice ...my problem is my menstrual cycle.

I’m lucky to have a fortnight free and then I start having to wear sanitary liners/protection again. My periods are not overly heavy, just so long winded. It’s a complete pain.

It ruins my love life, my mood and lots of underwear.

I have seen a gynaecologist a few times, I’ve had scans and biopsy’s - all clear. My last appt, 18 months ago, the gynaecologist said ‘it’s your natural cycle’.

Should I be pushing for ‘more’ (not sure what), but the thought of having this for another 15 - 20 years is depressing.

Ps. I have a strong link to dvt, rules the pill out and both coils make me bleed more. (Tried everything)

Hello I don't know too much about this but quite a few friends have had the implant and that has stopped their periods for the whole time they have it in. I don't know what the DVT risk is with the implant but maybe it is something you could look into.

Hi, the best option would be to go to gynaecologist. I have friend who are in contraception and they have lot of spotting throughout the month. I can feel you pain.

But every contraception are different so worth trying few.
For underwear, I am currently trying out UK based period underwear WUKA, two types one your menstrual day and one on spotting day saves lots of underwear from throwing away.

hope you ll find a solution x

RTFT? She has seen a gynaecologist several times.

How old are you OP?

when you say you get 2 weeks with no bleeding, what length is your cycle? (from the day you start bleeding to the day you start again?) Most women would bleed from (for example) Day 1 to Day 5-7, then have 21 days bleed-free before Day 1 of the next cycle.

So your cycle is only shorter by one week. If it's a 22 days-ish cycle that is classed as 'normal'. I don't think you should worry.
