Weird Deja vu feeling

I was shopping yesterday when a wave of really intense Deja vu washed over me. My brain went into a dreamlike sensation and I could feel blood pounding round my body. I had to stop where I was, and wait for it to pass, it wasn’t long. When I came out of it I thought I was going to vomit and I felt emotional and had to hold the tears in. I was left with a dull headache.
I woke twice in the night with the same thing. If it happened once, I could write it off as low sugar or something, but 3 Times in less than 24 hours? What on earth can it be?

I feel similarly when I have a PTSD flashback, often of something I've repressed. Is that a possibility for you?

Otherwise, did you have a temperature or were you too hot or dehydrated?

TalkingSheds · 25/11/2017 07:25

I've had this, turns out I have epilepsy. Worth getting it checked out.

Are you v stressed ATM op or very tired? Could it be anxiety?

I used to have panic attacks and I sometimes experienced a strange "disassociated" feeling when I had them.

Worth checking out at gp to rule out any physical causes first tnough.

A work colleague had the same and was diagnosed with mild epilepsy soon after, it was controlled with daily medication and she has never had another episode. Worth a visit to your GP.

Thanks, my brother has epilepsy so it had crossed my mind. I’ll make an appointment on Monday to go and see the doc.
Sorry about your PTSD peace , it’s more like a random jumble of dreams, you know where you are waking from a weird dream and you are trying to think about it but it’s drifting out of reach. My mind felt scrambled. Thanks for replying

I don’t think I’m stressed but Christmas is approaching and my father starts Radiotherapy in January so that is obviously on my mind quite a bit.

I hope the doctor was able to get to the bottom of things (or start off investigations anyway) and that you are feeling better op.

So sorry to hear about your father.

Thanks Sludge, I have an appointment for next Tuesday so I’ll see what she says about it.

Sounds like epilepsy- you need to go and see what’s causing it if it doesn’t go away soonish
