Is the antibiotics making DD poo a lot???

My DD has recently been prescribed antibiotics (she's 8 mths) for impetigo. However, since she started with them she is doing about 5 dirty nappies a day- most unusual.

It doesn't appear to be diorrea(sp- apologies!!!), could it be the antibiotics?

My dd was on them last week and she pooed for England-mind you hers were runny and black after a few days-now there's something to look forward to!

What anti-biotics is she on?

I reckon it would be the anti biotics. The virus is probably going through her system. They can be quite harsh on their little tummies but maybe take her to GP is it gets worse. But if it's not diorrhea (sp, I can never spell it!) I'm sure it's the medicine coming out in the poo.

Yes, antibiotics can cause this.

Shes' on Flucloxacillin - its bright pink and vile!!!!

yes that can be a side effect of antibiotics. They change the natural flora of the gut which is why they can cause diarrhea.
