Think need a bit of a hand hold, someone to talk too.
Didn't have a period in August then think had a small period in beginning September. Felt like I would be having a period as discharge levels would change but no period happened. Anyway, started a period beginning of Nov and still bleeding.

Was meant to have a smear beginning of Nov (normal routine testing) but had to postponed due to being on, tried to get an appointment with a dr last week but i could only see a nurse and then cancelled as thought if still bleeding no point going and at that point it will only 10 days so thought maybe it's because hadn't had a period for a few months so it was going to longer than normal, also recalled not generally having a period over August over the past few years.

But now getting worried as still bleeding, stomach is quite bloated. Have had ingestion a lot over the last few months but do generally get this a bit (not the greatest diet! Have been having a niggly pain on and off in left hand lower side.

Originally thought might be an early menopause but now mind is wandering onto things more sinister. I tried to get into the Drs today but no appointments and not urgent. Next free day I can go is Friday so finger crossed I can get an appointment with a dr!

Try not to panic - I've had extended abnormal bleeding a few times over a few years and it's always just been one of those things. I was checked for fibroids, I've had a uterine biopsy - both clear, and it was just put down to hormonal blips. They can prescribe progesterone to stop the bleeding in the meantime. So - yes, definitely get it checked out but sometimes it just happens and there is nothing sinister whatsoever.

Thanks hassled. I'm 34 so hoping it is just a hormonal blip.

Mind just overthinking at the moment

I could have written your post. Now on week 4 of bleeding and had to cancel smear test. Just been given tranexamic acid by the doctor (but not yet started it) and had a blood test. Was taking desogestral pill and stopped that so will need to make a doctors appointment for next weeks for blood results

I’m 38 and have just had the same thing, this period went on and on and on, just finally stopped after 17 days. I have had the odd irregular cycle since the birth of ds 3 3 years ago, I know I don’t ovulate every month now. It’s happened before and had had a pelvic scan which all came back clear. I think it’s fairly common but if you’re worried get it checked.

Slartybartfast · 23/11/2017 09:49

I had to have norehisterone after a 3 week period, which stopped it. just hormones all over the place.
i had to visit GP
why dont you visit GP op

Slartybartfast · 23/11/2017 09:49

oh, sorry, hope you get your appointment tomorrow

itispersonal · 23/11/2017 10:30

Took the day off work to try and get an emergency appointment, as have drove myself mad with worry.

I thought dr wasn't all that fussed about it and wasn't listening to the other symptoms I was saying. She has given me a tablet to stop the bleeding and suggested a thyroid test, but next appointment for blood test is 8th December!! And if symptoms persist to go back for an examination.

With the other symptoms bloating, indigestion, pain on left hand side, facial hair growth, ibs and for my own piece I have order a private blood test to be done.

I know I am now probably just being a paranoid loon but I am quite an anxious person and let things build up and up til I can't stop thinking about it.

Stop googling op, you have seen GP who did not appear concerned, and 8th December will come round quickly

itispersonal · 13/12/2017 19:30

Follow up. Still worried.

Took the tablets and stopped bleeding within a day or so.

Had a smear on 1st Dec then started bleeding again for a week. (Brown blood) 6 week wait for results. Had a thyroid blood test last Friday.

Stopped bleeding for a day then on Monday have started bleeding again (bright red blood and a lot of it) (day after intercourse) Have struggled to get into the Drs, no pre booked appointments have to call at 8 for on the day and that's not always possible and then they have all gone.

Not sure if this is my period bleed or something more. Those that did take these tablets to stop bleeding did you have a period within 2 weeks of starting the tablets.

I feel hormonal, though may use be stressed.
