Hi all,
for the past few days, my ds has been complaining of having an itchy face and this morning he has a few red spots and a slight rash on his left cheek, which is behind his ear too.His face is warm to the touch, although he doesn't have a temperature. His ear was leaking what can only be described as 'snot' lastnight but that seems to have dried up now.(he has grommets)

He was also madly scratching his armpit yesterday but he doesn't have any redness there today.

He appears well in himself so this is slightly puzzling! He's had imetigo once before and isn't showing the same symptoms so, do any of you wise mumsnetters have any idea?

It's his first day back at nursery today but don't think we'll be sending him...bloody typical huh?!?!

TIA

I would go to the doctor today without fail.

MY DS has exactly these symptoms. Took hims to the doctor yeserday (including the cough). ITs a viral infection, nothing at all sinister. we were prescribed some antihistamine to help with teh itching

Another update!

My poor ds has a very nasty ear infection and a serious bout of impetigo..

He's in such a state today and his face is all swollen and itchy. His ear is just gross but he won't let me near it to clean it.

He's been given Fucidin cream and a 10 day course of Flucloxacillin, which will hopefully kick in soon.

The fun part is stopping him from constantly cuddling and kissing his baby sister..
