There's a growth

I had an ultrasound scan, the results show there is a growth in my womb measuring 1.5cm x 1.7cm. They are unsure what it is and I’ve to wait 2 months for an appointment with a specialist.

Has anyone had a similar experience? What did it turn out to be?

My mum had that and it turned out to be fibroids - which I think are harmless growths and they removed them. No issues whatsoever since (now 10 years on). I know it’s difficult but try not to worry, the majority of lumps found aren’t cancerous or anything to worry about. I think most things found in that area tend to be fibroids or cysts.

If the doctors were worried they’d have gotten you in to see someone a lot sooner than 2 month. It’s likely to be fibroids

If they suspected something serious you are generally seen within 2 weeks. Once the referral arrives at the department the consultants triage the referrals by seriousness.

Thanks folks. I feel much more reassured. Smile
