Dental Implants

Does anyone out there have any experience of dental implants, particularly upper front teeth. Have they failed or been a fantastic success. Also, has the process been long, painful or easy. Any advice would be great.

I have several, but none in the upper front. They've been fine, I really can't tell the difference between them and normal teeth. It's not painful, but it takes a while, at least the way they do them in the US. First, they implant the screw into the bone under local numbing. That feels a bit sore for a few days but not terribly so. They you have to wait a few months for the bone to integrate with the screw (it actually grows into and around it), then they create a custom abutment that mounts on the screw and then you have to get a crown made.

It's several months at least from start to finish, and a lot of money, but it's the closest to having a natural tooth that you'll get.
