I've started (today) to get tightness and pain/discomfort in my neck/jaw which spreads down my shoulders, chest and arms and my lips go slightly numb. It feels like my throat is tight - rather like when you are trying not to cry. It comes in waves and is really quite painful at its worst. I haven't had this since earlier in the year, when I was so worried I went for an ECG. Everything was normal though - in fact really healthy heart and BP. GP thought it might be anxiety at the time, but currently I don't feel anxious or particularly worried or stressed. There are no muscle spasms with it. I'm sleeping pretty well, I've been losing weight slowly and steadily (intentionally) over the last year. I'm pretty sure it isn't heartburn or wind - I had that when I was pregnant and it feels quite different. Can anyone help?

I’m would say you should be going to get checked out at A&E with those symptoms, even phoning an ambulance as it could be cardiac related. I know you say you’ve had anxiety but it’s better to play on the safe side. Have you got the pain just now?

Jaw pain in women can be a symptom of a heart attack.

It has gone off again now completely. Last time they said the pain would be much worse if a heart attack and my heart rhythms were completely normal. I will get it checked out again though, especially as there was no obvious anxiety trigger this time.
