I think it was you who suggested taking Syndol for my fibromyalgia. I can't find the thread I started, so am unable to check. If it was you, can you tell me if I'm able to take Syndol with Ibuprofen? I bought some Syndol at the weekend, as the painkiller I have don't work and since my definite diagnosis of Fibromyaglia my GP won't change my meds.
If it wasn't you, sorry

Hi Saltire, I've only just seen this!! I take it with ibuprofen. The only actual painkillers it has in it are paracetamol and codeine, which don't clash with ibuprofen - it's got a mild muscle relaxant in it which is what makes it so good, but isn't relevant to the ibuprofen as far as I know.

Did you know ibuprofen can cause depression if taken long-term though?

I hope you're not feeling too bad at the moment, I know how horrible fibromyalgia can be.

Thanks Greeny, I got some because my prescribed painkillers are doing no good, I ahve co-codamol 30/500, and all they do is help me sleep, as I also take 20mg of amitriptline.
The syndol are easing the pain - not taking it away completely but easing it enough to enable me to get comfortable at night. I'm having a bad week, the pain is mild in the morning, but by 6pm I'm in agony, thankfully I have part time mindees this week. However I just feel really cr*p. I'm going to wedding on Saturday, so I'm hoping this flare will have eased by then.
I didn't know that about Ibuprofen, but I don't take it long term anyway, just when I'm having a really bad time, or occasinally during the day if I get a flare up wehn minding!
