I've just been to the chemist to pick up a prescription which is some sort of solution for verruca's & warts (Occlusal it's called).
Dumped chemist bag along with next back on kitchen floor quickly while I ran upstairs to get DD2's bouncy chair when DD1 came up, her lip has gone white and she says it hurts - there isn't alot gone out of the bottle at all.

Have made her swill water in her mouth and spit it out to try and get rid of whatever might've been left in her mouth.

What shall I do ?

God, my week is getting worse and worse - was gone litterally seconds !

Oh dear - poor you. Check the packaging/bottle - and see what it says?

I imagine the stuff is quite caustic. Do they still recommend drinking milk to line the stomach? May be old fashioned advice now but I'm sure that's what they used to say.

FoghornLeghorn · 17/04/2007 15:48

It says keep away from eyes & mucous membranes, nothing about drinking the blooy stuff ARRRGGGGGGG

I'd probably go to GP or ring NHS direct.

It seems to be salicylic acid - I'd ring NHS direct - this page says:

If you do suspect an overdose, or if the medication has been ingested, call a poison control center or emergency room for advice.

Have called my GP - she advised as it was only a very small amount (it appears DD brushed the fluid onto her tongue) to keep rinsing with water and keep a close eye for any swelling etc.
It's not bothering DD at all now, she is sitting watching LazyTown as happy as larry.

Will be keeping close eye on DD1

Hope she's OK - get yourself a cup of tea too.

If you want to give NHS a call they are really good at finding out ingreadiants of stuff.
When dd ate her way through a tub of sudacreme, they looked all the ingreadiants up for me and said she'd be fine and she was.
