Micro penis and undescended testes

Hi, my 10 yr old son was diagnosed with undescended testes when he was 3, and had a opp to bring them down, but he's now 10 and he hasn't seemed to have grown down below at all? In comparison to his brother who's 11? I did go to docs about a yr ago and they just said won't know until puberty! It's really worrying me , he's a big lad, taller than average in height etc, just really worried, anyone else been through this with their child? What was treatment given?

surely he's just not there yet? DS2 is the same age and no change yet.

Has anybody had any experience with this ?

Has he been checked for klinefelter symdrome (xxy). This is common with those boys as is being taller in height.

Sorry I skimmed past he is 10. I wouldn't worry until puberty hits, maube he just hasn't reached that stage yet or that's just the way he is. The above may be something to bear in mind though if there is still an issue in a few years. It's quite common, affecting one in every 500-1000 males

I have a nephew who this sounds really similar to. Except he was 18 and no change, he is also a huge tall lad. His mum took him the doctor and demanded tests after being fobbed off countless times. Turned out he needed hormones treatment (a cream if I remember correctly) he grew facial and body hair, his privates grew to normal proportion and he's now a normal lad for his age, he did go through some temper issues which doc said was normal. I can ask my sis what the condition is if it helps.

May be the one I mentioned Gerry? It's treated with testosterone cream or injections.

Ds has it. We were lucky to get him diagnosed at 3 as they were genetic testing for something but not sure what (slower development). Usually it's not realised until way later on and some hcp seem a bit clueless about it. Yes, he is tall too.

Doctor hasn't mentioned it, the last he was seen was about 5 years ago, as I was worried that his testes had gone back up, was assured they hadnt, since then I did go back to docs, they didn't check him or anything just told me to wait until puberty. He was 3 when diagnosed with undescended testes, and the first time i went to docs they it was fine, wasn't happy and went back again, saw a diff doc who referred him straight away!

Will look in to klinefelter syndrome, he is taller than average and everyone always thinks he's older as he's taller than my older ds! Thank you for replies

How old is your ds now 99? And did they treat him at 3?

About the same age as yours. Americans can seem to get treatment earlier from what I've gathered on support groups. Ds hasn't been treated yet. We are waiting until puberty then he has to see an endocrinologist. Afaik they will check his testosterone levels then and make a decision with how to proceed - as to how much testosterone he will need.

If you are reading about it I will say what the endocrinologist told me, take it all with a pinch of salt as it can be the doom and gloom things that come up. Ds is a happy, healthy child. You wouldn't have a clue he has a little genetic issue.
