Post root canal pain - any dentists about?

I had root canal on a lower molar on 3 November. The dentist said she was happy with the result, after 90 minutes in the chair and the horrible dental dam. One of the nerves was so inflamed it was bleeding and needed injected into directly, so she said it would take a while to settle. At the end of last week it was still really painful, so I phoned, and went in on Tuesday - she said it all looked good (although didn’t take a new x-ray) and still settling.

Today the tooth is super sore, and the gum round it looks swollen. This doesn’t seem right to me, does anyone know? I am loathed to ring in and waste anyone’s time, especially as my own Dentist is now on holiday.

Think you should go back. I had first part of a root canal done on Monday and the dentist said if I had any pain or swelling I'd got to go back in. Hope you get it sorted.

Thanks, keel. It’s a bit less painful today so I am going to see how it goes over the weekend. If it’s no better on Monday I will ring in.
