In hypothyroidism, how long does it take for thyroid to stop functioning completely?

Thanks. I googled too but didn’t come up with much, just that it seems destruction is faster with hyperthyroidism and slower with hypo.

I had a book by Mary Shomon. In fact l have had 2, the one on AI disease in general l still have; not sure l didn’t offload the one specifically on hypothyroidism.
