Son has these and I think they are called allergy shiners, although there is some debate if they are indicative of allergies or not.

Son has lots of allergies. Nuts, seeds and rhinitis (probably hayfever) which has caused him chronic sinusitis. Paediatrician said he "looked" like a boy with allergies which I assumed was because of his eyes.

well i asked the doctor today and she said that she coudl certainly see them, but that they werent indicative of anything. and that the allergy thing hadnt 'been proven'

sigh

DD1 gets these really bad, looks like she's had no sleep at all, but has no allergies. DD2 doesn't get them at all, even when she has had v little sleep, and has loads of allergies. DH gets them and does have allergies, I don't get them and don't have allergies. Does that prove or disprove the theory?

Have heard of allergy shiners adnd know a few people (adults) with this.
Ds ,allergy to nuts/eggs etc, doesn't have dark circles but has the classic sign of a crease under the eye.Apparently common in atopic people.

He does get dark circles when his asthma is bad .

I have also heard that dark circles can be caused by not drinking enough water.

my dh has an allergy line across his nose from constantly wiping it.

ds2 (asthma eczema) has that crease, I never knew about that!
