Mastitis Lump

Hi,

I had mastitis 3 weeks ago, been on antibiotics for 2 weeks, now finished. Feel so much better, but there is still a egg sized lump in the breast. It hasn't moved for 2 weeks, it isn't sore or anything.

I went back to doc to get it checked, and they said it could be up to 3 weeks for it to disperse. It's not that I don't believe them, I guess I just wanted some extra reassurance!

Yes this happened to me - there was lump there for a quite a few weeks after finishing antibiotics.

Yes me to! Just watch it and head straight back to docs if you start to get the flu like symptoms/ it starts to feel more sore.

It's probably a small collection of milk - a galactocele. It's worth seeing your GP in 1-2 weeks if it persists just to be sure.
