No pain in the neck but........

I do have a lump in my neck - I say in because it seems to be in the muscles / tendons which run along my spine.

I was a bit disconcerted when I first found it - but it doesn't hurt, and now I really don't know whether to go and see the GP or not. He's very much a "its probably a virus" type, and I don't really want to waste his time.

Any thoughts , oh wise ones?

It could be some form of cyst. My DH gets a lot of sebatious (sp??? I know it is wrong!) cysts. They are not normally painful for him and not a problem either. Every so often he goes and gets 2 or 3 cut out.

I would have it checked out just to make sure - even if it is a viral thing.
