DS is 20 months and I just want to know what the average amount should be. Thanks

I don't know - but with mine I just made sure there was water available all the time. Particularly when it's hot, or on long car journeys. If there's plenty of pp and poo happening then they're getting enough fluid!

Well that's my concern seeker - there's so much wee! He drinks loads. We've thought about diabetes mellitus but he has no other symptoms and he's well but diabetes insipidus is something we are now considering. We are going to write down how much he drinks over the next 24 hours I think.

Sorry - I made an assumption about your
concern! I'm always worried that mine aren't drinking enough.

It's easy enought to test for diabetes -it might be worth it just to set your mind at rest. I was concerned abotu my ds once because his breath smelt of pear drops and I googled that as a symtom of diabetes. I had to take a pee sample to the practice nurse.

I'm always assming Seeker especially on here!! Dipsticking urine is for diabetes mellitus it's a blood test for insipidu, might be just as well to rule out the other though! Thanks for taking the trouble to reply
