Had a conversation with a friend today who has had this prob, and she puts it down to the pil. I am on the same one, and was really surprised, cos i have also had on/of prob with nasty spots on partsof my back.
I put it down to age, stress bla bla.
I have always had a nice clear back till about 6 months ago, yet, I have been on this particular pill for a year more than that.

I was due to get more yesterday, but seeing as i dont have a sex life, i am not bothering.

any thoughts?

I've been on Cerazette since last June, and I don't get spots. Does leaflet say it's a possible side effect, out of interest?

expatinscotland · 13/04/2007 21:31

I did!

HORRIBLE because those spots really did hurt.

I still have the scars.

My sex drive disappeared entirely and my depression got ten times worse.

pirategirl · 13/04/2007 21:37

yes yes yes, wow this is all new to me today.
the spots do bloody hurt and i didnt get them for some time say ten months after starting the cerazette.

at least i think it was that long.

I have looked and it is one of the side effects. tbh, i never used to take much notice of the side effects bit.

Well, no sex drive, i am not sure if i have none because i am not getting any, sounds like a oxymoron ( yippee love this new word) but i havent anything titilating my world right now, so cant really tell.
Plus just sadly got divorced, so not sure if being dwon is just the norm!!

what a palaver! v interested in how I'm gonna be, when not on this pil.

rampant, spot free, timebomb, one hopes lol

I suffered really, really bad side effects, pirate.

I went off it in the middle of a pack, not that it mattered because I bled incessantly on it, too.

pirategirl · 13/04/2007 21:47

expat, how long di you stay on it?

I settled into it really well, only a small bit of bleeding after a few weeks and that was it.

I cant go on the combined cos of me smoking, thats why she put me on it in 1st place.

my friend, reckons she has put on weight, but a cant see it, she is like a bloody twiglet.
I have put on weight, but i do easily anyhow.

I was fine on Cerazette. I started them straight after DD was born. DH insisted I came of them, as he thought they gave me PND

expatinscotland · 13/04/2007 21:49

2.5 cycles.

The side effects were really that bad.

I think that whole bollocks about 'give it time to 'settle'' is a completely unacceptable.

I had NO sex drive. Ever. For the first time in my adult life.

A full on period every other week.

Spots on my back, shoulders and chest so bad I bled through my clothes, couldn't carry a handbag and still has scars.

And my PND got so bad I started to have suicidal thoughts again.

NOT good.

WEnt off, and was my old self w/i a month.

pirategirl · 13/04/2007 21:52

woah, thats bad!

hmm, wonder what it is in this type of pill that can cuase so much upheaval?

I cant complain about moods or owt. Mainly cos i'm on anti depressents.

I am wondering if my normal hoprmones come back now, that i'll have mood swings, pmt and that.

guess i'l have to wait and see.

can't answer your question but is this the pill where do you don't get periods?

expatinscotland · 13/04/2007 21:54

It does cause periods to cease in some people.

It's progesten-based, so if you've had bad effects with progesten in the past, discuss this with your healthcare provider.

pirategirl · 13/04/2007 21:58

yes, that was the great thing, i waso ne of the lucky ones who didnt get periods.
you take it continuosly.

OP posts:
nappyaddict · 13/04/2007 21:59

is it only the mini pill where sometimes your periods stop?

nappyaddict · 13/04/2007 21:59

is it only the mini pill where sometimes your periods stop?

expatinscotland · 13/04/2007 22:01

It's a progesten-only pill that's considered a 'mini pill' in taht respect, although it has a longer window during which you can take it w/o failure rates increasing.

I found out progesten-based contraception isn't for me.

chocolateface · 14/04/2007 00:12

Nappyaddict, you take the mini pill contiually, instead of having a break every month.

nappyaddict · 09/05/2007 00:30

i have just started taking this pill. how long did you take it before these red spots came?

also did anyone get really sore boobs when they first started taking it? i've been taking it 6 days and it feels just like it did when my milk first came in with ds!

expatinscotland · 09/05/2007 09:11

i can't really remember, but it was soon enough that i thought, 'whoa? what the hell?'

i didn't have sore boobs, but i had just about every other side effect.

loopylou6 · 09/05/2007 09:31

i have taken this pill for about 2 and a half years now, and apart from annoying bleeding sometimes (other times i dont have any bleeding for months) i dont really have a problem with it

nappyaddict · 09/05/2007 12:16

i have always had spots on my back but they seem to be worse atm but i've only been on this pill a week. do you think that is too soon for it to have an effect?
