DS (11.5 months) with diarrhoea - what, if anything, should I give him to eat and drink?

DS has woken up this morning with diarrhoea (but no vomiting so far). I gave him water for breakfast, rather than milk (he is FF).
I'll keep offering him water to stop him getting dehydrated. Should I try to get him to eat anything and, if so, what? He had a small amount of banana for breakfast. I'm assuming banana, breadsticks, rice cakes would be OK if he wants them, or should I avoid food altogether?
Should I avoid milk altogether today? He normally only has milk at breakfast and at bedtime. When should I reintroduce it?
