Small Lumps on Top Of Ear

Hi my friends ds who is 7 years old as recently been complaining about his ears hurting, upon examination by my friends she's noticed small white lumps under the skin at top of the ear which are sore to the touch, he's had them previously which appeared like a blister and eventually popped and went away. Does anyone have any ideas on what these are and what can be done to either cure or prevent.??

my DS also gets these when in sun too long! Now wears factor 50 and smothers his ears!

My 6yr old ds has one which is quite hard to the touch. I had to get the GP to freeze it and pop it with the aid of a small needle. DS had no bother with that, however it comes back only not as big and I can squeeze it after the bath when its softer and easier to burst.
