Could the spots be peurpura - not sure how to spell it. I get them sometimes, have had lots of bloodtests and they said it was something to do with too much something...to do with bananas... and vomiting...umm...oh god can't remember, will post if it comes back to me.

Twiglett, you are not serious, dh has chronic diverticulitus and has had almost all large and almost all small intestine removed and is the bain of his life. Benign ? Treat it seriously, while you still can.

frumpygrumpy · 11/04/2007 16:11

When I laugh really hard I wheeze, cough, can't get a breath and start to turn purple. I try, try, try not to laugh in my day to day life. But its so bloody hard with you lot around.

If I stick a cotton bud really far into my left ear I start coughing and choking, but it only happens with that ear and not the other one

frumpygrumpy · 11/04/2007 16:16

greeny, do you it a lot? There must be a helpline......

Twiglett · 11/04/2007 16:17

oh shit .. probably mis-self-diagnosed then .. I have been getting an intermittent pain in the place that Pruni described for going on 8 months now .. it lasts for a good few days then stops .. I think I meant diverticula rather than diverticulitis having just looked it up again

sorry about your DH

If I pour alcohol down my throat I get giggly, dizzy and then throw up. I often have a migrane the next day.

frumpygrumpy · 11/04/2007 16:23

me too soupy! And I know there is a helpline. Damned if my fingers can get the numbers into the phone though....

lucyellensmum · 11/04/2007 16:24

twiglett, you might have gall stones, i had similar, well F*%^ing excruciating pain just to the side of my stomach OMG i thought i was going to die. Gall stones can cause varying levels of pain however i had it simmering away for ages but apparently pregnancy makes it worse. It could of course just be indigestion as well. Worth getting checked out though as you really dont want it to get as painful as i had it. Had the GB out and all i have to show for it is a jar full of stones (impressive) and the occasional flair up of indigestion.

not just spell it then Califrau

tokentotty · 11/04/2007 16:36

Pruni I have those little broken capilliary thingies exactly. Am also selfishly glad it isn't just me Got loads more at the moment which am definitely putting down to being pregnant.

Boco · 11/04/2007 16:37

Pruni i'm still vague on it, but when i got these spots, the bloodtests showed increased levels of something - POTASSIUM! i remembered - and that usually indicates you've been vomiting, or eating loads of bananas, and i'd not been doing either, but the spots still appeared - under the skin, the sort that don't fade with the glass test.

Anyway, never got to the bottom of it, and still get little clusters of them sometimes, but they fade.

Hmmmmm....well I've not been vomiting and definitely can't remember the last time I ate a banana. Ah well, if anything important drops off soon I'll be sure to let you all know !

tinkerbellhadpiles · 11/04/2007 19:32

Greenleeves - just curious, what happens when you have a smear test? (tunnel vision?)

Greenleeves · 11/04/2007 19:33

I have never had a smear test
