A moan about my nose AGAIN

So I'm on steroids, nose spray, all as a last ditch attempt before ENT referral. My snot is currently green, my nose I can't even sniff, I'm in pain. When will this ever end Sad in the queue for doctors now to beg not to make me wait another 3 weeks for a review. It's ruining my life. Can't sleep because I can't breath and the over night post nasal drip is horrendous, wake up and it's hard to take a deep breath. I hate this, I hate my nose and all it's stupid problems!

Have you asked your gp to take a swab to establish whether it's viral or bacterial? I had the mother of all sinus infections recently - sprays and tablets did nothing. Eventually I discovered it was bacterial and had Augmentin antibiotics (penicillin and something else to help it penetrate my passages). A month on and I'm finally clear of infection but still have a blocked nose. Getting an ENT referral is a nightmare- I think I was told you have to have had a problem for over 12 weeks? Good luck, hope you get some help soon...

Thank you I've had the problem for 3 years now Sad I have deviated septum one side and polyps the other. I have sinus infections all the time, it's never not blocked. He promised 6 weeks of this and then ENT referral, it's been 3 and it's not worked in fact the infection is worse that usual. Doctors said he's in on Monday so hopefully he'll just refer. Fingers crossed!
